Written by Sofie Laguna and illustrated by Marc McBride (Allen & Unwin)
It all starts with Matthew Zajac, who has read and dreamed about the North Pole for as long as he can remember. He heard a bang on the window in the middle of the night. That is the night he met Lewis
Carmichael. Lewis said he could take him to the place he has always wanted to go.
Matthew thought he was dreaming. Is he dreaming? From that point on it becomes a hot-air
balloon adventure. Later they arrive on the Arctic tundra. This is where some problems happen – some scary and some sad.
I really enjoyed this book, because I love twists and turns in stories and there are a lot of twists and turns in this one. I think ages 10+ would love it. If you are up for a bumpy adventure, this is the book for you.
