I sail the ship out into the ocean,
Everyone is counting on me.
Once in a while we stop for supplies
And kangaroos come racing by.

I revile places undiscovered before,
And people cry out in awe.
People with scurvy, others with dysentery
I don’t know what to do next.

The waves push the Endeavour around,
Lightning strikes and gives us a scare.
The wind howls and pushes the ship
I don’t know what to do next.

I order people and they listen
But I am losing men who do the work.
Many are buried,
What will I do next?

I watch as the journey comes to an end
After travelling around for three years.
People are tired, and people are waiting
We wait for family to scream out our names.
