My Aboriginal acrylic painting on canvas is based on a snake crawling along the Southern River in Perth, which at the same time symbolise the place where I live. The snake is chosen because, for us Aboriginal people, it is a symbol of strength, creativity and continuity since ancient times across many societies. Many artists of my community have depicted snakes in their paintings and I wanted to depict my own with my own design.
